Mort’s on Upper Red has been a fishing hot spot since 1960! Located on beautiful Upper Red Lake in Northern Minnesota, Mort’s offers summer and winter access to Upper Red Lake. Upper Red has a long history of producing some of the best walleye fishing action in northern Minnesota. Trophy class northern pike, slab crappie and jumbo perch also reside in Upper Red and provide fisherman with more opportunities.
After a day out on the lake, come on in to Mort’s and enjoy a cold one. Share your fishing stories of the day and unwind. Our lodge offers a full bar with 2 for 1 taps, pull tabs, pizza, snacks and more. If you prefer to spend the day on shore, catch some sun on the sand beach or relax at one of the RV sites. Our lodge also has showers and bathrooms which are open 24 hours a day. Plus we have early ice camping available with lighted, secure storage and electricity.

Scott Wakefield
Scott Wakefield is a resident of Waskish, he's an Alaska commercial fisherman and Red Lake specialist.
"I live on the lake and have fished Red for over 30 years. I know where the fish are. I can assure you a safe and comfortable experience in the best fish houses on the lake. I'm always moving houses to stay on top of the fish. In the summer, I can point you in the right direction to find the walleye pods or put you in the right area for big pike. And we might even be able to stumble on to some of the monster crappies or that are still circling the Upper Red Lake bowl.
