Summer Fishing

ON UPPER RED LAKE

May and June are prime months for excellent walleye action!  They also provide good fishing for northern pike, crappie, and yellow perch.  As spring turns to summer, and the lake starts to warm up, the walleye pull away from the shore line and can be caught trolling a bit deeper out in the basin areas of Upper Red.  This is when the crappie crib locations on Upper Red Lake can provide structure to hold some fish.  The mid-summer months also produce some “wall hanger” northern pike up in the shallows trolling bigger spoons and stick baits.  When things start to cool down again in the fall, the walleye start to move back near the shoreline drops and rock piles.

Our boat launch is the closest access point to get you to all the hot spots on the westernmost side of Upper Red Lake - Center Bar and The Rock Pile to name a few.
